Pasco County Schools has announced that the 4th Annual Autism Walk will be held on April 19th, 2008!
The walk will be held at Mitchell High School this year!!! Deer Park staff have agreed to be the contact school for facilitating the walk this year. Volunteers are needed for planning, fundraising, and helping on the day of the walk. The following planning meetings have been scheduled at Deer Park Elementary School:
November 7th at 4:00
December 3rd at 4:00
All funds raised will benefit autism programs in Pasco County Schools. Let's all pitch in and help our schools, so they can continue to help our children reach their highest potential! For more information please contact Joanne Surmin at JSurmin@Pasco.k12.fl.us.
Javámo Art for Autism contest!
Open to children between the ages of 5 – 18 years old diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). With your entry include child’s name, age, address, and phone number. Send child’s original painting, drawing, or coloring (no bigger than 11" x 17") to:

Contest runs from October 15th – December 31st. 2007. Selected artwork will be used to adorn a special coffee bag released in 2008 by Javámo Coffees. A major portion of the proceeds from the sale of this coffee will directly support Initiatives/Programs/Services for children with Autism and related disabilities and their families. This holiday season, Aware 4 Autism will be hosting a special event at Gaylord Palms for fun in the winter snow and ice! Thursday, December 27th, Ticket prices are as follows: adults: $15.99(ages 13 and up) Seniors: $13.99 Children $7.99 (ages 4-12) Children 3 and under are free.

The 10th Annual Family Cafe Conference is scheduled for June 13-15, 2008 at Disney's Coronado Springs Resort in Orlando, FL. As in past years, registration will open on Valentine's Day, February 14. Financial Assistance will be offered as available.
